Who we are

When something that belongs to all of us needs looking after, we come together.

cuiDAMOS grew organically. No traditional structures, no individual limelight, and no interest other than contributing.

Friends, business owners, citizens and people from all sorts of sectors began meeting around a shared concern: some things were too important to leave entirely in someone else's hands.

Democracy brought us together first.

In a deeply divided country, facing 2026 presidential elections that would shape Colombia's future, we understood that beyond our differences there was one purpose that had to cut across the whole of society: to look after democracy, protect the vote and help make the elections free, transparent and trustworthy.

That is how cuiDAMOS Our Democracy was born.

What began as conversations between friends and business owners grew on its own. People, organisations and citizens chose to put their time, knowledge, management skills, resources, teams and networks at the service of a shared purpose.

We were not trying to replace institutions. We wanted to do what an active civil society does: take part, keep watch, accompany and care.

During the elections we built a citizens' mobilisation around turnout, safeguarding the vote and the transparency of the process. We proved that when citizens organise around a concrete goal, they can become an enormous collective force.

The elections ended and that first purpose was fulfilled. We thought our work ended with them.

But cuiDAMOS had already built something far more important: a community willing to act whenever our society needed it.

And then our land needed us.

On 10 August 2026 an earthquake struck our region and changed, in a matter of seconds, the priorities of thousands of families.

Facing the emergency, we understood that the capacity we had built to look after our democracy could be put to work for others once again.

We found each other again. Business owners, friends, volunteers, organisations and citizens switched our networks back on. We made available time, vehicles, logistics, resources, contacts, knowledge and the ability to get things done: to identify needs, to receive and organise donations, and to get help to the affected communities.

That is how a new cause was born: cuiDAMOS Our Land.

A different expression of the same purpose. Because we understood that cuiDAMOS does not belong to an election, an ideology or an emergency. cuiDAMOS belongs to society.

What we are today

Today we are a civic and business movement of citizen action that connects people, companies, capabilities and resources around causes that belong to all of us.

We believe in an organised, supportive and participatory civil society. A society that does not always wait for someone else to fix things, but understands that it too has the capacity and the responsibility to act.

We look after our democracy.
We look after our land.
We look after our people.
And we look after what unites us.

Because when there is a common cause, our differences can become small. And when we organise to look after what belongs to everyone, we are capable of far more than we imagine.

A society that organises.
A community that acts.
A country we look after together.

How we work

Nine principles that do not change with the cause.

They were there when we decided to look after our democracy, and they moved us again when our land needed help.

Everyone has something to contribute.

Time, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, contacts or our own hands.
