For eleven days, citizens, friends, business owners and organisations put in time, resources, transport, logistics and labour for the people who needed it most. We received, sorted and went out to deliver in our own cars, talking to the leaders of each neighbourhood, rural settlement and shelter to verify what was actually needed.

We did what we promised: that every bit of aid reached exactly the person who needed it, and that every peso was accounted for.

This is the full account, top to bottom. Nothing is left out.

Nobody is paid to administer this money. There are no fees, no commission, no percentage of what was raised. Whoever runs the campaign provided the warehouse, the team and the time at no charge. The only thing deducted for handling the money is what the bank charges.

Separately, some aid never passed through our accounts

Donors who, instead of giving us the money, paid the supplier directly —medicines for intensive care units, and groceries— with the invoice made out in our name. It reached the families all the same, but it was not money we could administer, so it is not part of the figures above.

What comes next

The rebuilding

The emergency phase is closed. The collection point has stopped operating and we are not taking money contributions while we account for what was raised.

What remains available goes to the partial rebuilding of the Alfonso Jaramillo School: getting the children back into classrooms is what comes next.

That figure is not yet the budget for the works. The provisions in this account —taxes and banking costs— are based on an internal memorandum prepared for management, and must be signed off by a licensed public accountant before any contract is signed.

What is still open

It gets reported rather than papered over. That is the point of publishing accounts.
